LEAP Testing Boot Camp Registration Form

March 5, 2018

To all parents and guardians:

We’re already in the third month of 2018...time is flying by and as of today, we only have 19 instructional days left before LEAP testing begins and 52 days before the end of the school year.  Parent please continue to encourage your students to follow SOAR Expectations in and out of the classroom so that quality instruction can continue to take place.  We are determined to grow by at least 5 points in our School Performance Score...from a 72.6 to a 77.6.  We can’t do it alone though.  We need full participation from students, quality instruction from teachers, and continuous support from our wonderful parents and guardians.

These next few months will pass very quickly so please be on the look-out for notes and pay close attention to the calendars.  Just so you know, 5th & 6th graders here at Elysian Fields will begin online LEAP testing on Monday, April 9, 2018 which is the day we return from our Spring Break.  Online testing lasts the entire month.  We’re asking that if you have to schedule any  appointments for the students, please try to schedule them as late in the afternoon as possible.  We really need all students present on these days as they are testing.

We wanted all parents and students know that we have teamed up with Village East Middle School once again and we will be hosting a Free Testing Boot camp for    students on Saturday, March 17th, from 9:30 a.m.—12:00 noon.  Students must have transportation to and from school.  Testing Boot Camp will be held here at Elysian Fields for both schools. Students must submit a registration form.  Registration forms are also being sent home.  You can also find an additional copy online on our website….or you can ask your child’s homeroom teacher for another copy of the registration form.

We will host our Spring Family Night on Thursday, March 28th at 6:00 p.m.  Along with many fun games to engage the entire family, we will discuss some important information that pertains to LEAP testing.

Last, but not least we’re asking all fathers & men from the community to come out to greet our students at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018.  We’d like your help encouraging our students to do well on the upcoming LEAP assessment and we know that our students would love to your support.

Educationally yours,

Ms. Markita E. Grant,
