NEWS! NEWS!! NEWS!!!
To all parents and guardians:
We’re already in the fourth month of 2017...time is flying by and as of today, we only have 20 instructional days left before LEAP testing begins and 30 days before the end of the school year.
This is a very important time of the school year since this is the month that our 5th & 6th grade students will take the LEAP test. We are asking that you as parents cooperate with us and not plan any vacations or appointments during this time. Remember that we are testing online throughout the entire month. If appointments have already been made, now would be a great time to try your best to get those appointments rescheduled if possible. Attendance these next few weeks is especially important. Please ensure that your child is getting a good night’s rest every night during testing week. This time of year is especially stressful to both teachers and students, so we encourage you as parents to work with your kids, encourage them to do their best, and encourage them to behave.
At the end of testing in May, those students who have been behaving during testing and trying hard on their test will be invited to a splash day. Those students who are causing disruptions during testing and in class while others are testing will not be able to attend. Teachers are monitoring behavior each day….while students are testing AND when they are not testing.
We are preparing for our Family Fun Day in May. We will be sending letters home soon for T-Shirt orders and food donations. Please be on the lookout.
