NEWS! NEWS!! NEWS!!!

October 3, 2017

To all parents and guardians:

We are still off to a pretty great start this year.  Students have been being rewarded for the success and growth they are showing in Achieve 3000.  Parents, please encourage your students to do their best in Achieve 3000, Accelerated Reader, & Accelerated Math.  More rewards in each of these areas will be coming soon! Thanks for your continued support and for bringing your concerns to our attention.  We will continue to try to work together to make this a successful this year.

This will be a busy month here at Elysian Fields.  First...remember that we do have school on Friday October 6th and Monday October 9th.  They were originally scheduled to be our Fall Break Days, but since we were out two days for the Hurricane, those are now our make-up days.  Next...students will be receiving their first nine weeks reports cards, we will have our Renaissance Celebration and Perfect Attendance             celebration for the first nine weeks.  Those students that will be in Renaissance will have excelled or grew in academics AND behavior.  Our 4-H, Beta Club, and Girls on the Run clubs are active again this year.

We will be celebrating Bullying Prevention Awareness & Unity Day during the week of October 16th—20th. We’ll then kick off Red Ribbon Week during the week of    October 23rd—27th.  We will have activities on each of the days during this two week period.  Be on the look-out for information cards letting you know what students will be allowed to do during that two week period as we take a stand against Bullying and Drugs.

This Tuesday, we will have our second Parent/Teacher Organization Meeting at 6:00 p.m.  Please make time in your schedules to be in attendance.  Later this month, we will also be hosting our Fall Academic Family Night.  Letters will go home soon and students are expected to RSVP.  Parents and students will also have the opportunity to shop at our Book Fair that week.

This month, you will also receive letters about our upcoming Fall Fest which will be held in November.  We will be asking for donations...so be on the look out.  In the meantime, remember our annual PBIS Class-O-Treat will be held at the end of this month.  We’re asking for donations of bags of candy or individually wrapped snacks to be given out as the students go from classroom door to door Class Trick-or-Treating.  Students that send in donations will receive a Jean Day pass.

Educationally yours,

Ms. Markita E. Grant,

Principal
