May 1, 2018

To all parents and guardians:

We are in the final month of school and this time is just as crucial as any other time of the year.  This time of year is  extremely busy as end of year  activities are being planned along with teachers still planning and teaching meaningful      lessons until the very last day of school.  Parents, please encourage your children to behave at this point of the school year.  Learning is still taking place.

Please be aware that our Spring Bazaar will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 1:00—3:00 p.m.  There will be many games, foods, and other activities for   students to participate in.  This event is for students at Elysian Fields Middle School only.  Parents/Guardians may attend IF they are volunteering to work at a station.  Tickets for this event will go on sale beginning Monday, May 7, 2018. Tickets are $0.50 each.  They can use the tickets to play games and purchase concessions.

We will host our last PTO meeting of the year on Thursday,  May 10th at 6:00 p.m.   We will be discussing concerns that you have as parents, Title I Needs Assessment, and our School Compact.  Since EFMS is a Title I school, we need for all parents to complete a Needs Assessment.  The results will be used in helping our leadership team to revise our School-Wide Plan for next school year.  The survey is online and will be available  up until May 25, 2018.  Please go to our school website and click on the link for the parent survey.

End of the Year Report Cards will be mailed.  Students have already been sent home with an address verification form.  Please sign and send back to school so that we can ensure all reports cards are sent to the correct address.

Educationally yours,

Ms. Markita E. Grant,

  • Teacher’s Appreciation Week is being celebrated May 7—11, 2018.
  • After-Testing Dance will be held Friday, May 5, 2018 at 2:30 p.m.  This will be for those students that have displayed good behavior and have continued to work hard to prepare for the LEAP test.  Students will come home with an invite if they are allowed to participate.
  • Please come out Thursday, May 10th to our last PTO Meeting of the year.
