UPCOMING EVENTS

NEWS! NEWS!! NEWS!!!

April 9, 2018

To all parents and guardians:

We’re already in the fourth month of 2018 & time is flying by.  LEAP Testing is upon us and we only have 33 days before the end of the school year.  Every Friday this month, we will allow students to wear jeans and a spirit shirt or uniform shirt for $1.00.  This is just to consistently encourage students throughout the month to do their very best on the LEAP test.

This is a very important time of the school year since this is the month that our 5th & 6th grade students will take the LEAP test.  We are asking that you as parents cooperate with us and not plan any vacations or appointments during this time.        Remember that we are testing online throughout the entire month.  If appointments have already been made, now would be a great time to try your best to get those       appointments rescheduled if possible.

Please be mindful that all schools are testing this month, but every school’s online testing schedule may look different.  On our calendar, you will see which grade levels will be testing on any particular day and which sessions they will be taking.     Remember….this is ONLY for students at Elysian Fields Middle School.  Attendance these next few weeks is especially important. Please ensure that your child is getting a good night’s rest every night during testing week.  This time of year is especially   stressful to both teachers and students, so we encourage you as parents to work with your kids, encourage them to do their best, and encourage them to behave.

At the end of testing in May, those students who have been behaving during testing and trying hard on their test will be invited to a dance.  Those students who are causing disruptions during testing and in class while others are testing will not be able to attend.  Teachers are monitoring behavior each day….while students are testing AND when they are not testing.

Please take time to visit our website and complete the PBIS survey by clicking on the link provided.  This will give us valuable information in moving forward with our program next school year.

Educationally yours,

Ms. Markita E. Grant,

Principal
